The Arnold Almanac, is a daily 90-second music-history radio short feature where DJ Jay Arnold shares his irreverent, yet informative look at events of the day in music history.
A native of Vallejo, California (home to Sly And The Family Stone, Johnny Otis and Con Funk Shun, a.o.), Jay Arnold had the radio bug early, growing up listening to great San Francisco stations such as Top-40 KYA and KFRC, M.O.R. KSFO and KIOI (K-101).
Four months after graduating from Lodi High School, he got his start as a professional disc jockey in 1980 at KWG 1230 in Stockton, only a month after his start at San Joaquin Delta College's KSJC (now KWDC). After a year as a KWG weekend/fill-in DJ, Jay moved to cross-town KWIN, where he became morning-drive DJ a year later.
